As I mentioned in the previous post, I've been busy creating my website. I decided to use smugmug for the time being. I have not made up my mind as to whether I would want a website that entirely uses flash. I'm not a fan of the user-friendliness of the flash navigation but definitely prefer the smooth and silky look of it.

PS. Melissa wants a shout-out for her outstanding work finding the font I am using for my logo / branding. So here you go Melissa, love you! :-D

It's been a few days since I've posted here. I've been busy with the design and launch of my new site! I'll add another post about that a bit later.

This past weekend, I was finally able to get together with some relatives that I have not seen in quite a while. It was nice to be able to catch up and especially nice to meet my new nieces and nephews. I couldn't resist snapping a few pics of the cute little kids. The parents also wanted me to get a few shots of the entire family since we don't get to see each other very much.

This past Friday we decided to check out the performance of Beauty and the Beast at Miller Outdoor Theatre. The production features very talented kids from around Houston and best part is that it is free for everyone! Plus Melissa's friend was one of the actors. I gave my new 70-200 lens a workout that night.

Took a quick stroll along 19th street and Heights Blvd after work. I saw some interesting locations driving along through the Heights the other day and decided to go capture some of them. Here are a few that I liked:

The deli had some cool window signage

Totally just luck, but this old vintage car was just parked outside this house

A different version of the same shot? Which is better? I can't decide

Someone must have had quite a surprise when the bench actually broke

A large gazebo-like structure that's the centerpiece of a small park

Last weekend, Melissa and I went on a camping trip with her friends from high school. It turned out to be a really fun weekend even though it was freezing cold on Friday night (definitely need to invest in some better sleeping bags!) We drove up to Lake Somerville (15 miles north of Brenham, TX). These are some pictures from the weekend.
